Objective To study the important significance of EGF, TGF1, sCD44, TIMP-1 concentration level in serum of patients with gastric carcinoma and intestinal cancer on diagnosis, the serum concentration level of all the above cytokines were detected.Method Serum concentration level of EGF,TGFpl, sCD44,TIMP-1 from samples of five groups were detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Each group is consist of 30 people. The first group is patients with gastric carcinoma but nonr-esected their primary tumors. The second group is patients with gastric carcinoma but underwent resection of their primary tumors. The third group is patients with intestinal cancer. The fourth group is patients with benign gastric pathological changes. The fifth group is healthy people. Then a statistics process was held,to explore the changing regularity of all the above cytokines in different diseases.Result ㏕he serum EGF concentration level of patients with gastric carcinoma but nonresected their primary tumors(357. 27 + 121. 87pg/ml)are higher than that of patients with gastric carcinoma but underwent resection of their primary tumors(208. 53 + 76. 03pg/ml) ,and also higher than that of patients with intestinal cancer(215. 07 + 73. 21 pg/ml), patients with benign gastric pathological changes (121. 02 + 54. 20pg/ml),and healthy people(107. 98 + 33. 69pg/ml). The difference between them have obvious statistical significance(P<0. 001). The serum EGF concentration level of patients with gastric carcinoma but underwent resection of their primary tumors and patients with intestinal cancer are obviously higher than that of patients with benign gastric pathological changes and healthy people ( P<0. 001). TGFl concentration level in serum have no difference Between patients with gastric carcinoma but nonresected their primary tumors, patients with gastric carcinoma but underwent resection of their primary tumors, patients with intestinal cancer and patients with benign gastric pathological changes (P>0. 05). The same result were found between patients with gastric carcinoma but underwent resection of their primary tumors, patients with intestinal cancer, patients with benign gastric pathological changes and healthy people. But there are difference about the serum TGF|31 concentration level between patients with gastric carcinomabut nonresected their primary tumors and healthy people, patients with intestinal cancer and patients with benign gastric pathological changes , patients with intestinal cancer and healthy people (P<0. 05).Regarding the sCD44 concentration level in serum, there are no difference between patients with gastric carcinoma but nonresected their primary tumors, patients with gastric carcinoma but underwent resection of their primary tumors, patients with intestinal cancer, patients with benign gastric pathological changes and healthy people(p>0. 05).No difference was found about serum TIMP-1 concentration level between patients with gastric carcinoma but nonresected their primary tumors and patients with gastric carcinoma but underwent resection of their primary tumors (P>0. 05). But the TIMP-1 concentration level in serum of patients with gastric carcinoma but underwent resection of their primary tumors have an increasing trend. The TIMP-1 concentration level in serum of patients with gastric carcinoma but nonresected their primary tumors, patients with gastric carcinoma but underwent resection of their primary tumors, patients with intestinal cancer are all higher than that of patients with benign gastric pathological changes and healthy people(P<0. 001), and there are also obvious difference between patients with benign gastric pathological changes and healthy people(P<0. 001).Conclntion EGF is a maker of tumors. Further study shows that EGF is a reference diagnositic indicator of early gastric carcinoma and intestinal cancer. And EGF also is an auxiliary identity indicator among gastric carcinoma , intestinal cancer and benign gastric pathological changes. Further more, EGF can also be regarded as...
