This thesis describes the management information system building from 1995 of Chengdu No. 3 hospital. The system has experienced several stages as system initial building, system rebuilding, system upgrading, social medical insurance building, and it's a system from no to more, from simpleness to complexity, from involving few departments to involving all around the hospital, from chaos to shapenness. Seen from the system building period, it's not perfect, even it has great limitations. Due to the system built in haste and the builders scarce of information system building knowledge and knowing little about datum selection, the system is facing many difficulties. The builders haven't realized what cause these difficulties , so what all they do can not solve the difficulties although they are completely experiencing. As to the current situation, if the system is restructured completely on the basis of the old system, no much significance is prefered. And the restructuring can not meet the demands of stability, integrity, perfectness because the system is imperfectly designed and there are too many demand changes. What directly cause this situation is no strict management controls and supervisions over time, fund, human resource, procedure management, program change, quality management, employee training etc. The third chapter in this thesis discusses the project management methods about the system building from a lot of aspects. In detail it's discussed from contract management, team management, human resource management, expenditure management, program change management, procedure management, quality management, document management, employee training. The current shortages and the project management suggestions about the system are listed in the conclusion. What should be pointed out is that if the suggestions are used on the basis of the current system, it may be of no apparent effect, and if they are used in a new information system building,we can get great achievements.
