The object of the experiment is to investigate the effects of herb medicines by studying the capacities of learning and memory of the rats. In the experiment ,three-month male rats ( 200±20g) were allocated to seven groups: the normal group, the model group, the Hup-A(Hup-A-control )group, and four herb medicine groups. All rats were trained and tested by Morris Water Maze.1.changes of the capacities of the learning and memory of the scopolamine model rats and the effects of the BUSHYIZHFANG and the sub-groupsRats were injected with scopolamine 1mg/kg before training, and were tested every day after training, one week later or two weeks later. It was suggested that scopolamine can impair acquisition of learning and memory in the rats signicantly. Hup-A may facilitate acquisition of learning and memory in the rat scopolamine treated. QUBINGPIAN group medicine and YIQIHUOXUE group medicine recovered significantly impairment of learning and memory in the rat scopolamine treated. The effects of BUSHEN group medicine is apparent, but it's effects is worse than that of QUBINGPIAN and YIQIHUOXUE group medicine. Effects of the BUSHENYIZHIFANG were worst in the four herb medicial groups. In long-term memory test, data from the experiment suggested that the QUBINGPIANgroup, the YUANFANG group, the BUSHEN group medicine appear to facilitate the Long-term memory of the rats.2. Change of the capacities of the learning and memory of the cycloheximide model rats and the effects of the BUSHYIZHFANG and the sub-groupsAs the same way we had used in the above experiment, we trained and tested the rats. All rats were injected with cycloheximide 1mg/kg before training. It was found that cycloheximide can impair consodilation of learning and memory in the rats. QUBINGPIAN group medicine may improve capacities of learning in the rats, YIQIHUOXUE group medicine and BUSHENYIZHIFANG tend to averse deficits in the rats treated by cycloheximide. The effects of BUSHENYIZHIFANG, BUSHEN group medicine, YIQIHUOXUE group medicine is worse than QUBINGPIAN group medicine in navagation training. The effects of BUSHEN group medicine and QUBINGPIAN group medicine is worse than that of other groups herb medicine in probe test. In long-term memory test, BUSHENYIZHIFANG and BUSHEN group medicine may attenuate long-term memory of the rats.3. Change of the capacities of the learning and memory of the enthanol model rats and the effects of the BUSHYIZHFANG and the sub-groupAs the same way we had used, we trained and tested rats, rats were ig ethanol 40% 3 ml/kg before test everyday. Result from the experiment suggested that ethanol can produce deficits on retrieval of the learning and memory in the rats. BUSHENYIZHIFANG can facilitate capacities of learning and tend to averse the deficits of memory in the rats. BUSHEN group and QUBINGPIAN group medicine may improve memory impairment ethanol prouded. Effects of YIQIHUOXUE group medicine were worst in the four groups. Hup-A attenuated capaticies of learning and memory in the rats and reversed the retrieval impairment enthanlo produced remarkably. In Long-term memory test, QUBINGPIAN group medicine and BUSHENYIZHIFANG may facilitate long-term memory of the rats.From the above, we concluded that BUSHENYAO in compatiable with YIQIHUOXUEYAO facilitate more capacities of learning and memory than YIQUHUOXUEYAO or BUSHENYAO alone. YIQIHUOXUEYAO may produce a relativity short-term effect. And BUSHENYAO may facilitate rat's Long-term memory, BUSHENYIZHIFANG appear to be the best medicine that facilitate long-term memory.
