Purpose: To explore clinical characteristics, the principle of diagnosis and treatment in the renal tuberculosis nowadays. Methods: The clinical data of 150 cases of renal tuberculosis treated in our departments from 1993 to 2000 were reviewed and analyzed, which included the morbidity of renal tuberculosis, age range, characteristics of th~ clinical feature, urine analysis, urography and treatment. Of 150 cases,112 patients underwent the surgical operation, two patients were hemodialysis due to uremia, 36 patients were cured by anti-tuberculosis agents. Conclusions: The atypical manifestation with the patients would result in misdiagnosis or delayed diagnosis. The rate of the atypical renal tuberculosis was 58.7% The B-type ultrasonography and the examination of urinary PCR-TB-DNA is especially recommended for routine employment in the diagnosis of renal tuberculosis. The medical therapy with anti-tuberculosis drugs was the first choice for the renal tuberculosis. The surgical operation was very important for the medium and advanced renal tuberculosis. |
