0bjective:â‘ to investigate the knowledge and desire of labor analgesia andthe influencing factors among primiparae.â‘¡To investigate Possible effect onlabor course and neonatal behavioral neurological assessment(NBNA)with or withoutepidural analgesia for pain relief in laborMethods:â‘ A survey on 572 parturient women with questionnaires in Maanshancity.â‘¡A prospective randomized Study involving 241, term, nulliparous women wereenrolled. Lumbar epidural analgesia was started at cervical dilatation 3-4cm by using0.12% bupivacaine + fentanyl 4ug/ml. Injection given according to acquired.R ults: â‘ 54.72% of pregnant women have the knowledge of labor analgesia and47.20% have the desire in 572 parturient women.â‘¡compared the light burden ondelivery and labor pains, the pregnant women have a higher proportion of desire onlabor analgesia.â‘¢In the study group, the length of the first and second stageprolonged.the rate of oxytocin administration increased considerably. cesarean andinstrumental vaginal delivery rates. neonatal outcomes, were similar in two groups, Thescores of active muscles tone and primary reflexes decreased, while passive muscle toneand genetal assessment increased.Con lusion:â‘ the opportunity maternal received education from obstetrician andmidwife affected the incidents in knowledge and desire of labor analgesia. The otherimportant factor is burden on delivery process and delivery pain.@The epidural laboranalgesia method of 0.12% bupivacaine + fentanyl 4ug/ml injection into epidural spacewas associated with longer duration of the first and second stage, increasing need foraugmentation of labor with oxytocin infusion. no differnce in the tOtal scoes ofneonatai behaviorai neurologicai assessment, but changed the musce tone and reflees.
