Anthracnose is the most serious disease in strawberry during seedling and post-transplanting stages. The causal agent was clarified as Colletotrichum gloeosporioides(Penz.) Penz.&Sacc.according to its cultural, morphological characterizations and its molecular identification by using polymerase chain reaction (PCR) with species-specific primers and sequencing. The laboratory assay of resistance of C.gloeosporioides against common used fungicides carbendazim and diethofencarb in vitro showed that 92.1%isolates collected from Hangzhou area were of high resistant to carbendazim,93.7%isolates were of high resistant to diethofencarb, and 87.3%isolates were high resistant to both fungicides, suggesting that these fungicides or their mixtures should be avoided to use for controlling anthracnose of strawberry in Hangzhou area.In vitro test for minimum inhibitory concentration of C.gloeosporioides from strawberry against 14 fungicides showed that this pathogen is very sensitive to Mancozeb and ovraclostrobin, and is very resistant to carbendazim and Chlorothalonil. Our experiment also showed that drench the seedling before transplanting and/or spraying the seedling after transplanting with 167μg/ml ovraclostrobin could reduce the incidence of anthracnose.
