| Plant landscape of urban road is an important part of city greening space system. It plays a role of afforesting and beautifying the city, cooling, humidifying and reducing the sun heat, assisting traffic so that it creates the safe, happy, comfortable, graceful beauty and health environment for people.1. This article was performed to investigate the structure and species composition plant landscape of urban road of main roads in Hohhot. The main results are summarized as fellows: There are 23 species of trees have be used in street greening of main roads in Hohhot, comprised of 6 gymnosperms, 17 angiosperms, which belongs to 18 general10 families, which take up high percentage, such as Sophora japonica, populus alba var. pyramidalis, Lilac and so on.2. By measuring tree heights and crown diameter of main road greenbelts in Hohhot, also statistic and analyzing the data, the result shows that the average height under branch is about 2.56m and the shading rate of greening is between 50.5%-85.4%.3. By measuring the solar radiant energy, air temperature, relative humidity and wind speed of different streets with different shadow area, analyzing the influences on microclimate, the environment comfort grade, the result shows that it has the biggest effect on weakening solar radiant, cooling and humidification of the road greening from bigger shadow area.4. The article carries out esthetics regulation to the plant landscape of main road in Hohhot, and proposes several suggestions of the transformation of the plant landscape of urban roads in Hohhot.
