As a cold-season grass,festuca arundinacea is widely used in the green lawn of China's temperate and subtropical regions,but the cold-season grass is high costs of maintenance and management in the production,including grass cutting cost account for 60%of the costs of maintenance.In order to enhance the quality of grass and reduce the maintenance costs,international advanced countries on green have made many researches on chemical pruning and have made some progress.The rise of China's grass industry is also faced with the great pressure on the maintenance and management,so using the plant growth retardant to dwarf a lawn for pharmacy pruning,to reduce the times of pruning,and pruning at the same time enhancing the neatness of the lawn,so that we can facilitate management,reduce costs and improve economic efficiency.In this experiment using two-split on trial design,pruning height(A) as the main area, three processing:low-cut(4 cm),mid-cut(6 cm) and high-cut(8cm);pruning one time every 30d.Retardant(B) with different concentrations as secondary area,five processing level:0 mg / kg,20mg/kg,40mg/kg,60 mg / kg,80 mg / kg.The results show that:1.After pruning using S-3307 with different concentrations can inhibit the growth height of festuca arundinacea at different degrees,and deepen grass-pruning to stimulate the growth of festuca arundinacea,to enhance its ability to regenerate. S-3307 has certain negative effect on the appearance quality of lawn plants.By comparison of the different stubble height,we find that the higher the stubble height, the smaller the density,the higher the height,the worse the texture,the lighter the color,the worse the coverage,the worse the capacity of anti-pulling.S-3307 with different concentrations has significant effect on the festuca arundinacea in promoting tiller,which can increase the density of lawn,and also can significantly improve festuca arundinacea than the root cap,and speed lateral root growth so that thicken the root,root increased,thus increasing the adaptation of grass to the environment.2.Through the measure of various physiological index,we draw that S-3307 can increase the heat resistance,drought resistance and cold tolerance of festuca arundinacea.The interaction of Pruning and S-3307 has significant effect on cold resistance of tall fescue.Measuring the relative conductivity,A2B3,A2B4 is minimum,which its cold hardiness is the strongest;chlorophyll content of every processing are evidently higher than those of contra-posing,and the chlorophyll content of A2B5,A2B4 is the highest.Reasonable stubble height and appropriate S-3307 can significantly increase the chlorophyll content,improving the photosynthetic speed,which is conducive to the accumulation of organic substance for plant,and providing a material basis for the plant to resist bad environment.The content of leaves MDA presents a downward trend,and is lower than those of contra-posing,the minimum is A2B4.With the increasing of concentrations of S-3307, soluble sugar content have a tendency of decreasing first and increasing later in different stubble height.With the stubble height increasing,soluble sugar content of the same concentrations decreasing,soluble sugar content of A2B5 is the highest. With different S-3307 concentrations,proline content has a tendency of increasing first and decreasing later in different stubble height(B1 to B4 increasing,B4 to B5 decreasing),which indicate that B4 concentrations is the most suitable for S-3307. With the increasing of S-3307 concentration and Stubble height,phenols and flavonoids content shows an upward trend.
