Notopterygiumincisum insisum is the plant for umbelliferae celery subfamily delicacy celery family Notopterygium, which is also known as Sichuan Qiang, xi Qiang, silkworm Qiang, big end of Qiang and black medicine. The seed is with long dormancy and low natural germination. It was studied that the seed coat structure, the measurement of the water absorption character, the extraction, isolation and characterization of inner inhibitory substances of the seed and the seed treatment germination test of Notopterygiumincisum franchetii Boiss. Seeking on the N. franchetii Boiss seed dormancy mechanism and relieving ways, promoted the research development of artificially domestication cultivation techniques. The results are as follows:1.The seed coat structure and seeds water permeability were not the main reasons of the seed dormancy, while in the inner inhibitory substances were the main reason of deep dormancy.2. These inner inhibitors also had the very strong inhibitory action on the wheat and cabbage seed's germination rate and radicle growth, which are the organic acid, the phenols, the aldehydes and other organic compounds with GC-MS identification.3.Determining on six organic compounds, the results showed that inhibit effective density of cyclohexanone was 1mg/L; that ethanoic acid, caproic acid, pelargonic acid and isobutyric acid's were 10mg/L; that pelargonic aldehyde's was100mg/L.4. The GA3 did not relieve the dormancy but raised the N. franchetii Boiss seed's germination rate. When its best density is 400mg/L, the germination rate is 16%, which is higher than the control by 10%.5.The stratification treatment raised the seed germination rate obviously, combining 400mg/L GA3 with the variable temperature stratification (to put in 15℃~25℃under first condition stacking 3 months, then changes over to 2~5℃under condition stacking 3 months), the germination is the highest-- 47.33%, which is higher than the direct constant temperature stacking by 16.33%.6. Most of the intrinsic inhibitors can be removed when dip in water. In the range of the seek can endure, the inhibitory activity is stronger when the temperature is going up, the crude extracts of 45℃condition show the strongest inhibitory activity, and 25℃have the weakest inhibitory. Inhibitory activity becomes weak along with the increment of number of times immerse. Most of the intrinsic inhibitor can be removed when dip in water under the 45℃condition for short time.
