Forest is the main body of keeping ecological balance in the world and important natural resource for human beings, and its service function value appraisal research is a current hotspot. To increase cognition for forest ecosystem service value in the Qingzang Plateau, trees in Linzhi were selected as research object.According to research results of evaluation on forest ecosystem services at home and abroad and considering the characteristics of forest ecosystem service in Linzhi, principles and methods on how to select evaluation indexes were discussed and an assessment index system suitable for Linzhi was established.Based on the established evaluation indices, eight aspects of serves function in Linzhi were evaluated by applying the knowledge of Ecology, Ecological Economics, Resource Economics, Environmental Economics, and other multi-disciplinary knowledge. The main results are as follows:1. According to the principles of scientific, comprehensiveness, practical operability, systematic, stability and comparability, using analytical hierarchy process, expert consultation method and frequency analytical method, 2 indexes of first grade, 8 of second grade and 18 of third grade were selected as evaluation indices for evaluation on forest ecosystem service value in Linzhi of Tibet.2. Eight service functions were assessed, including those of nutrients storage and cycling, soil conservation, timber and other products, air purification, C fixation and O2 release, water storage, maintaining biodiversity. The result showed that the total ecosystem service value of forest in Linzhi was 3285.5×10~8 Yuan, of which the direct economic value was 420.92×10~8 Yuan accounting for 12.8% of the total value. The direct economic value was from timber and other products, and recreation and eco-tour, which were 413.42×10~8 Yuan (timber 6342.7×10~8 Yuan, other products 350×10~8 Yuan) and 7.52×10~8 Yuan respectively. The indirect economic value was 2864.58×10~8 Yuan, which occupies 87.2% of the total value, of which water storage was 146.12×10~8 Yuan, C fixation and O2release 279.46×10~8 Yuan (C fixation 87.46×10~8 Yuan, O2 release192×10~8 Yuan), nutrients storage and cycling 1427.44×10~8 Yuan; air purification 382.92×10~8 Yuan (SO2 absorption 2.91×10~8 Yuan, HF absorption 0.01×10~8Yuan, detaining dust 380×10~8 Yuan); soil and water conservation 628.8×10~8 Yuan (soil conservation 626×10~8 Yuan, reduce sediment2.8×10~8 Yuan); maintaining biodiversity 0.04×10~8 Yuan.3. The indirect economic value from the nutrients storage and cycling was the most obvious, which takes up 43.4% of the total value; and the least economic value was created by maintaining biodiversity, which occupies 0.07% of the total value. The eight kinds of service function value of forest ecosystem are listed in descending order as follows: nutrients storage and cycling> soil and water conservation> timber and other products> air purification> C fixation and O2release> water storage> recreation and eco-tour> maintaining biodiversity.4. Although Linzhi area had rich resources of forest tourism resources, the recreation and eco-tour value just occupies 0.23% of the total value. It showed that the forest tourism resources had not been effectively developed and utilized. Therefore, we should intensify rational development of forest tourism resources with the premise of not damaging the ecological environment.
