Effects Of Seed Treating With Uniconazole (S3307) On Seedling Growth And Yield Of Cucumber, Tomato And Cotton

Effects of seed treaded by different concentrations of Uniconazole on growth and yield of cucumber, tomato and cotton seedlings were investigated. The results showed as follows.The uniconazole treatment retarded effectively the fast growth of cucumber seedlings and increased colour with dark green and blade of leaf, the diameter of stem. The cucumber is very sensitive to the treatment of uniconazole and showed that the excessive growth of seedling can be inhibited by lower concentration uniconazole (5mg.L^-1). Soaking seed in 20㎎.L^-1 uniconazole for 4 hour is the best method for breeding vigorous seedlings. It increased yield of cucumber significantly by 17% by increasing fruit number per plant.Seed soaking with uniconazole can decreased the height of tomato seedling, retarded the fast growth, and increased strem diameter, stem and height ratio significantly and healthy index. The tomato is not like cucumber sensitive to uniconazole concentration and showed that excessive growth of seedling can be inhibited by lower concentration uniconazole (5mg.L-1). soaking seed in the 20㎎.L-1 uniconazole for 5 hour is the best method for breeding vigorous seedlings. The uniconazole treatment increased yield of tomato significantly by 15% and early maturity .Mixed seed with suitable concentration uniconazole can decreased the height of cotton seedling, retarded the fast growth, and increased strem diameter, and enhanced leaf color with dark green. Mixed seed with 5mg.L-1concentration uniconazole led to lower the height of plant by 5.9%. The uniconazole treatment increased yield of cucumber significantly by 22 % by increasing boll number and boll size per plant. 25㎎.L-1 is the best of all concentrations.
