The subclinical mastitis of total 248 udder quarters from 62 Holstein cows in Alar city was tested with the method of SMT(Shanghai Mastitis Test) to investigate the situation of mastitis disease in this area. The results showed that among 248 mammary areas tested at one dairy farm, the incidence of head mumbers and mammary areas in subclinical mastitis was 39.1% and 59.7%, respectively. The isolation from milk of dairy cows with submastitis and the identification indicated the main pathogens belonged to four genus: Staphylococcus, Streptococcus, Gram-negative bacillus and Gram-positive Bacillus, the incidence of which was 82.66% (81/98), 7.14% (7/98), 8.16% (8/98) and 2.04% (2/98), respectively. The identification of four genus above demonstrated that 29 strains of them were Staphylococcus aureus, 32 strains of them were Staphylococcus epidermidis, 20 strains of them were Staphylococcus saprophyticus; 2 strains of them were Streptococcus agalactiae, 1 strain of them was Streptococcus dysgalactiae, 4 strains of them were Streptococcus uberis, 4 strains of them were Escherichia coli, 2 strains of them were Salmonella, 1 strain of them was Klebsiella, 1 strain of them was P. aeruginosa and 2 strains of them were B. cereus. The drug sensitivity test showed that Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus epidermidis and Streptococcus agalactiae were resistant to penicillin, tetracycline and sulfa drug, while they were highly sensitive to the other antibiotics used among 16 kinds of drugs. The Gram-negative bacillus isolated were resistant to penicillin, streptomycin, erythromycin and cefradine which were commonly used in animal husbandry. According to the results above, the major pathogens of cow subclinical mastitis produced general drug resistance to the commonly used antibiotics, such as penicillin, streptomycin, tetracycline and sulfa drug. The inhibitory test against 5 kinds of pathogens in vitro was carried out with tube dilution method using 7 kinds of traditional Chinese medicines and 5 kinds of compound products. And MIC and MBC were measured at the meantime. The results showed that flos chrysanthemi indici, Rhizoma Coptidis, Follum lsatidis, compound productsâ… and compound productâ…¤had significant antibiotic effects on the five pathogens in vitro.
