The forest biomass indicates the management level and the exploitation value of the forest, and also reflects the complicated relationship between the forest and the environment in the matter cycle and energy flow process. Thus studies on the forest biomass are very important for the production and the theory research.Along with the development of the social production, the forest resources are consumed by the human uninterruptedly, especially the wood yield is tobogganed, what compelled the people to concern about the use of another part of the trees, it accelerated the studies on the forest biomass. Besides, the energy crisis and the serious environment problems also accelerated the studies on the forest biomass.The researchers established the comparative growth equations to estimate the biomass and productivity of the main forest tree species. These studies of the biomass summarized the biomass and distribution pattern of the different forest types in our country. Studies on the biomass of Cunninghamia lanceolata plantations were reported first and then were Pinus massoniana plantations.As well-know, the forest biomass determination is very difficult and laborious, so it is very important to confirm a kind of effect and exact investigate method. The biomass model estimate method is prevalent, it uses the tree factors which are easy to survey to calculate the trees biomass which is difficult to determine, this method reduces the works of the forest biomass determination in the forest field.For the former studies on the biomass estimate models, there are some problems must solve:(1) Most of the biomass models established before were wood biomass models, but the stand biomass models were few.(2) Most of the biomass models established before were static estimate models, but the dynamic estimate models were few.(3) The evaluate of the biomass models established before were not enough.Because there are some problems hereinbefore, this article introduces the studies on the biomass model of Cunninghamia lanceolata plantations in northern Fujian province, though collecting the data about the Cunninghamia lanceolata plantations in northern Fujian province. Using the biomass models established in this article can estimate the biomass of the Cunninghamia lanceolata plantations in northern Fujian province. The studies about the biomass model can afford basal data of forest resource investigation and the forest management and development for Cunninghamia lanceolata plantations in Fujian province.This article introduces the reasons of studies on forest biomass and realistic meaning of biomass model first, and then introduces the general situation of studies on the forest biomass done by the researchers in the other countries and problems about the studies. The emphasis of this article is how to establish the Cunninghamia lanceolata plantations models. The research content includes:(1)The investigation and determination methods of the sample trees biomass and the stand biomass. (2) Establishing the tree biomass and the stand biomass models, includes confirming the independent variable, evaluating index, the model framework designing and parameter estimate, building the tree biomass tables and so on.(3) Establishing the stand biomass dynamic yield estimate models.The innovative and the most important research content is how to establish the stand biomass dynamic yield estimate models.Finally, this article introduces the conclusion analysis of the studies on Cunninghamia lanceolata plantations models, put forward deficiency of the studies, and the problems which waits to research and discuss.After the studies and discussions about the biomass models, this article established the tree biomass and the stand biomass models of the Cunninghamia lanceolata plantations in northern Fujian province based on the comparative growth equations, and builds the tree biomass tables. Furthermore, this article also established the stand biomass yield estimate models of the Cunninghamia lanceolata plantations in northern Fujian province based on the Schumacher equation and theory growth equation. Established the stand density index dynamic estimate model, the basal area growth model and stand biomass yield estimate models to dynamic estimate the stand biomass, namely a system of stand biomass growth and yield dynamic estimate models.
