| To limit the peroxide value of oils in the diet, and to clarify the influence of the oxidized oil on lipid metabolism, the effects of oxidized oils on the growth, and the activities of antioxidant system, the fatty acid profiles in feed, liver, and muscle of Tilapia were studied by adding different oxidized levels oil into the experimental diets in test 1. In test 2, the antioxidant activity and the effects on fatty acids metabolism of high level of vitamin E were studied. The results were showed as below. In test 1, feed intake, weight gain rate, and food transformation rate of the Tilapias feeding the diets of adding oxidized oils were lower than the ones feeding control diet (P<0.05). With the adding of oxidized oils in the diets, hepatopancreas somatic indices (HSI) increased significantly (P<0.05), but plumpness, hepatic lipid ratio, and muscle lipid ratio did not significantly changed (P>0. 05). Compared to the diets of lower peroxide value (POV), the levels of glutathione (GSH) and the activity of superoxide dismutase (SOD) in the liver were significantly higher in the 73. 44meq/kg (POV) diet (P <0. 05). The levels of MDA were not significantly different in all fishes (P >0. 05).The content of saturated and monoene fatty acids were significantly increased, but the content of polyunsaturated fatty acids were decreased significantly in feed. With the adding of oxidized oil, C16:0, C18:0, C18:ln-9, 7 were increased (P <0.05), and C18:2n-6, C18:3n-3 were decreased in feed significantly(P <0. 05).Oxidized oil that POV were lower than 49. 75meq/kg could improve the content of total saturated fatty acid in liver lipid.
