Five potato cultivars were used as donors to study microtuber induction and pellet manufacture in the experiment. The main results were as follows:1. The solid MS media supplemented with liquid media, which contented edible sugar and activated charcoal, as the base media is not only helpful to get higher microtuber yield , lower cost and easy operation, but also can make industrialization of microtuber production for potato cultivars Atlantic,Favorita , Shepody and Longshu 3.2. The microtuber weight of 1.0 gram as the criterion of quality classification could achieve higher efficiency of microtuber pellet.3. The efficiency of germination and seedling in different potato cultivar pellets were not distinct when different salt content in solid media culture system were adopted. It was possible that microtuber pellet had limited ability to absorb and utilize nutrition from culture media at the early stage of microtuber development.4. Medium with starch could not only make potato pellet from different sizes of microtuber uniformly, but also be helpful to seed planting and mechanized farming. The stratum which was formed by starch in potato and salt in solid system and sobrum alginate degraded microtuber respiration badly and led to germinate difficultly and even failed, and finally made potato pellet development difficultly in early stage.5. Medium with activated charcoal could improve the efficiency of germination and seedling of potato pellet. It was possible that activated charcoal could make seed pellet ventilate and ameliorate nutrition from medium.6. Medium with Fubol did not have significant difference among different treatments. There are mainly two reasons. One was disease-free microtubers were used to make pellet. Another is some diseases especially epidemic disease could not happen during the period of developing early stage of potato pellet.7 The result from comparison of storage of potato pellets at low and normal temperature showed that the efficiency of germination and seedling of potato pellet decreased at both low and normal temperature with storage time increasement .Therefore ,low temperature ( 4±1℃)was better to store potato pellet.
