In this paper, Taking Grape country and Yaer country of Tulufan city as the study area, Landsat TM data of 1990,Landsat ETM+ data of 1999 and land use data of 2005 being used, the technology method of remote sensing(RS) and geography information system(GIS) being adapted, the land use and land cover change in this region for fifteen years was studied. At the same time, the grape-growing area was investigated by using the aerial remote sensing photographs. The main study contents and corresponding results were as follow:(1) After Geometric rectification, location, enhancement. We did the supervised classification to the land use/land cover in this region. A conclusion was drawn: the change of land use/land cover in this region varied sharply. Some types increased, others reduced. In 15 years, the land use/land cover show the the change law of " four is increased and four is reduced ". Among them, the area of orchard increased most seriously, it increased 3463.1 hectare during these 15 years and the rate of increasing is 64.57%. Secondly it is the cultivated land, it increased 1181.82 hectare in 15 years and the rate of increasing is 24.33%. Grassland , forest land , water body and un-using land show a tendency to reduce. Among them, Grassland decreased, it decreased 98.07 hectare and the rate of decreasing is 45.22%. next it is a water body, it decreased 69.61 hectare during these 15 years and the rate of decreasing is 26.00%.In the agricultural land change analyzes, in 1990 - 1999 and 1999 - 2005 two stages, the area of cultivated land and orchard increased, the area of grassland decreased, the area of forest land reduced on the whole from 1990 to 2005, but in 1990-1999, the area decreased, during the year of 1999 to 2005, the area increased. the reason was people had no importance that fully realized the forest land during 1990-1999, but since 1999, people have certain understanding to the importance of the forest land, the forest land was protected, the area of the forest land begins to increase.(2) Based on Pilotless Aircraft to the investigation of grape-growing area. The grape-growing area was extracted through the unsupervised classification, the supervised classification and the man-machine interactive classification method by using remote sensing photographs. and contrasts and analysis investigation precision above three classifications method in grape-growing area investigation on the field survey. The conclusion was drawn: the man-machine interactive classification is the best method in extraction of grape-growing area.
