Investigation On The Current Situation Of Physician 's Professional Spirit In China And Its Countermeasures

With the gradual deepening of the modernization of health care system, the high-tech of medical technology, the marketization of medical services and health system reform, the healthcare industry at home and abroad have suffered varying degrees of crisis of confidence. The important reason is the lack and deviation of physician professionalism, thus it is of great significance for enhancing the professionalism.On the basis of discussing the concept, connotation, function and historical changes of physician professionalism, this paper elaborated the theoretical basis and the importance of study about strengthening the medical professionalism. In order to obtain empirical data, the study randomly selected medical doctors, medical students and patients in Chengdu for questionnaire survey,500 people of each questionnaire. The questionnaire mainly includes the physicians’ understanding of medical profession, the medical students’ awareness of the medical major, the view of Medical Professionalism in the New Millennium:A Physician Charter and the Declaration of Chinese Physicians, the identity of professional responsibilities advocated in the Physician Charter, the attitude of Physician Professionalism Education and patient’s view of the physician’s qualities, the doctor’s professional responsibilities, the important of improve the physician professionalism. Each aspect contains a number of issues.Results:Physicians and medical students have inadequate acknowledge of physician professional liability, medical students have not enough about the medical major, patient’s satisfaction about the present situation of the physician group professional spirit is not high, the professional spirit fosters need to be improved. The reason for these problems is that the insufficient of national policy support, the lack of attention by medical profession, the impact of the current medical education mode, the erosion of social bad environment and the historical and the contemporary culture’s shock.Strengthen the physician professionalism education needs comprehensive joint of the government, medical industry, the physician and the society. Government must determine to promote health care reform, take highly pay attention to the healthy development of medical industry and the education of medical professionalism. The health care industry should strengthen the promotion and training of physician’s professionalism; improve the access appraisal system to health care industry. Medical colleges should change their concept, and implement the concept of the life-long education in medicine. The social should give their supports, take actively participation, and strengthen rational supervision and good communication. Only in this way can we make great progress in the physician professionalism education.
