Aim:To detect the content of CGRP and 5-HT in the peripheral blood of the SCI patients. To observe the effect of the combined triple acupuncture and rehabilitation training on CGRP and 5-HT. Explore the clinical mechanism of the combination therapy. To establish foundation for the promotion of the triple acupuncture therapy.Methods:54 SCI patients matching the study criteria were randomly divided into the treatment group and the control group. Both of the groups were intervented by rehabilitation training, the treatment group was added with triple acupuncture therapy; while the control group was applicated regular meridians acupuncture treatment. Treatments were given everyday for three courses with a two-day rest between each course.25 healthy persons were enrolled from General Hospital of Chengdu Military Region as blank normal control group. The subjects in both treatment group were tested CGRP and 5-HT in blood as well as ASIA feel score, ASIA motion score, improved Bathel index scale, Hamilton Depression Scale and Hamilton Anxiety Scale respectively before treatment,1 months,2 months,3 months. Recruiters in normal blank group were tested CGRP and 5-HT in blood only once.Results:1.The content of CGRP and 5-HT were lower than those in normal control group before the treatmet, and there was statistical difference((P<0.05); 2.1 months later the content of CGRP in treatment group was higer than that in the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P< 0.05);3.There was no statistical significance about the content of 5-HT, ASIA feel score, ASIA motion score, improved Bathel index scale, Hamilton Depression Scale and Hamilton Anxiety Scale (P>0.05);4.CGRP is correlated with MS, SS, MBI score, the difference was statistically significant (P< 0.05); 5.5-HT is correlated with HAMD and HAMA score, the difference was statistically significant (P< 0.05); 6. All of the indicators in the two groups showed a parabolic growth except the 5-HT, HAMD and HAMA score. The increasing trend was analogial as the time changing. One course later, the growth rate of the content of CGRP, MS, SS, MBI in the treatment group was higher than that of control group.Conclusion:1.Triple acupuncture therapy combined with comprehensive rehabilitation training had the earlier influence on CGRP, MS, SS, MBI scores in the SCI patients, which suggesting the importance of early comprehensive treatment of remodeling function in SCI patients. 2. The growths of the content of 5-HT and CGRP had a parabolic increasing trend as the time changing, but the growth was no longer lasted. The reason may related to the reverse transport of CGRP as well as the whole distribution of the cental regulation.3. The functional recovery potential could be possiblely got by testing the content of CGRP on the peripheral blood at the early stage of SCI patinets.4. The state of depression and anxiety in SCI patients could be prompted by testing the content of 5-HT on the peripheral blood.
