Clinical Observation On Treatment Of Lumbar Intervertebral Disc Protrusion By Local Warming Acupuncture

ObjectiveTo observe the clinical effect of treating lumbar disc herniation with local warming acupuncture and moxibustion as the main method.MethodsIn this study, a randomized controlled trial was used to randomly divide the patients into treatment group and control group,30 cases in each group. The 60 patients were randomly divided into treatment group and control group. The treatment group was treated by local warming acupuncture, and the control group was treated with acupuncture combined with red light irradiation. Acupoints selected in the two groups were the same, we chosen the following points as the main points:Shenshu acupoint, acupoint Dachangshu, Guanyuan, Shenshu Point; as for the matching acupoints,we take Huantiao acupoint, Weizhong, Chengshan, Kunlun points, Yanglingquan point; bilateral total of 16 points. After acupuncture treatment, the manipulation was not performed any more. During the Needle retention time,in the treatment group, there was a buring moxa stick of 2cm inserted up the neddle of bilateral Shenshu, acupoint Dachangshu, Guanyuan Shu,change a new one until it was buring out.In the control group, the infrared therapy instrument power transferred to 10W, placed on Shenshu acupoint, acupoint Dachangshu, guanyuanshu just above 20-30 cm until patients feel local hyperthermia. Each treatment 30min,1 times a day,5 times a week, take a break for 2 days a week, the treatment is 1 course for 10 times, a total of 2 treatment courses. Before and after the treatment respectively, using visual analogue score (visual analogue scale,VAS), modified Japanese Orthopaedic Association low back pain score (M-JOA), Chinese version of the Roland-morris dysfunction quantity as observation index to observe the change of The patient’s symptoms and the relief of pain after treatment, then analysis the income data by statistical processing, compair the different treatment methods after treatment.Results(1) two groups of patients before and after treatment with visual analog scale (VAS), symptom score (JOA), functional disability score (CRMDQ) were statistically significant different between the two groups after treatment VAS score, JOA score, CRMDQ score were significantly improved (P< 0.01);(2) two groups of patients after treatment of visual analog scale (VAS), symptom score (JOA), functional disability score (CRMDQ) were statistically significant different and the treatment group were better than the control group (P< 0.05) in improving VAS score, JOA score and CRMDQ score;(3) the total effective rate was 93.33%(treatment group) and 80%(control group) in the two groups, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).Conclusion(1) Index of two groups of observation group was statistically significant different, suggesting that local warming needle moxibustion and acupuncture with red light irradiation method for treatment of lumbar disc herniation in pain relief and improve symptoms and functional recovery were significant effective;(2) In the two groups,the differences between groups as we observed were statistically significant, suggesting that in the treatment of lumbar disc herniation pain relief and improve symptoms, function recovery and local warming moxibustion curative effect is better than that of acupuncture combined with red light irradiation method;(3) compair the total efficiency, although the two groups of lumbar disc herniation had curative effect, but local acupuncture moxibustion and acupuncture is with red light irradiation method curative’s effect is more exact.
