| Objective:To test the efficacy of TCM and the safety of Shugan Jieyu Granule for depression (liver depression and phlegm obstruction syndrome). Methods:The study was random, placebo-controlled and double-blind.48patients were included in this study. They were all diagnosed as depression (Tagnation of the liver qi and phlegm). They all underwent therapy for6weeks after random grouping. The ratio is3to1. that is therapeutic group and placebo-controlled group. The treatment for each group was as follows.1pouch Shugan Jieyu Granule (10g/pouch), three times a day for therapeutic group;1pouch placebo (10g/pouch). three times a day for placebo-controlled group. Score TCM syndrome before and after treatment. And assess the safety through three major routine test, electrocardiogram, liver function and kidney function before and after treatment. Results:â‘ Comparison of the efficacy of TCM:The efficiency of experimental group and the controlled-group were significantly improved compared with those without treatment, the tested group (the total effective rate was88.6%) curative effect is better than that of controlled-group (the total effective rate was58.3%), there are significant differences between them (P<0.05);â‘¡Comparison of the integration of TCM:the symptom score of experimental group and controlled-group were both reduced significantly after treatment, and remarkable differences (P<0.05) were existed in the two groups before and after treatment; Obvious difference was observed between the two groups (P<0.05) after treatment. Conclusion:Shugan Jieyu Granule has excellent curative effect and no obvious side effect for TCM syndromes which suffer from depression (Tagnation of the liver qi and phlegm). |
