ObjectiveTo observe the clinical therapeutic effect and safety of He Wei Tang on patients with Cancer anorexia cachexia syndrome (CACS), to provide positive reference for clinical medicine and scientific research of TCM.MethodsThrough the grade of spleen deficiency symptom quantization table and Karnofsky performance status score to evaluate patients, then 65 patients who were selected were randomly divided into the treatment group (33cases) and the control group (33cases) by using the random number table. Basic nutrition support treatment of patients in the two groups were maintained, and equilibrium was considerated. The control group was taken orally by the dispersible tablets preparation of Megestrol acetate, while the treatment group was taken orally by traditional Chinese medicine of He Wei Tang and the dispersible tablets preparation of Megestrol acetate, the Chinese medicine was used the preparation of granules. Patients or family members automatically record the daily food intake, body weight, the doctors record the TCM symptom score, patients of arm circumference and KPS score. The doctors ask and record the above information of food intake, body weight, arm circumference, TCM symptom score, KPS score in patients before(the first day of treatment) and 7th day,14th day after treatment. The curative effect and safety of TCM symptom score, appetite and body weigh changes, arm circumference numerical calculation, KPS score in the two groups before and after treatment were analyzed statistically by SPSS Software.Results1 Baseline analysisTwo groups of patients at the time of enrollment, gender, age, disease duration, initial Karnofsky score, the first TCM symptom score showed no statistically significant difference (p>0.05).2 Efficacy analysis2.1 Comparison between the 7th day of treatment and before treamentTwo groups of patients in improving body weight, appetite, TCM symptom score and TCM symptom scores in terms of bloating after eating, abdominal nausea, weakness defecation, there is significant difference (p<0.05). In improving the middle upper arm circumference, KPS score and TCM symptom scores in terms of abnormal stools, body tired fatigue, eating less poor appetite, endless abdominal pain,pale mouth thirst,shenpi and lazy words,bowel,nausea and vomit ing, edema, sallow complexion, there is no significant difference (p>0.05).2.2 Comparison between the 14th day of treatment and before treamentTwo groups of patients in improving KPS score, appetite,body weight,TCM symptom score and TCM symptom scores in terms of eating less poor appetite, bloating after eating, weakness defecation, nausea and vomiting,pale mouth thirst, abdominal nausea, there is significant difference (p<0.05). In improving the middle upper arm circumference and TCM symptom scores in terms of endless abdominal pain, bowel, body tired fatigue, sallow complexion, shenpi and lazy words,edema, abnormal stools,, there is no significant difference (p> 0.05).Conclusion(1) Compared with simply taking megestrol acetate treatment,combining with He Wei Tang treatment has more effective in improving appetite, TCM symptom score, KPS score, body weight, the middle upper arm circumference of patients with CACS.(2)Combining with He Wei Tang treatment has more effective than simply taking megestrol acetate treatment in improving TCM symptom scores in terms of weakness defecation, eating less poor appetite, abdominal nause a,nausea and vomiting, bloating after eating, pale mouth thirst.
