The shortage of doctors resultsin insufficient providing of pre-hospital emergency medical service. Only85%ofemergency need can be responded in recent years. Shortage and turnover of doctorshas been a major obstacle to the development of Beijing emergency medical system.The recruitment and retention of doctors is vital to the promotion of Beijingpre-hospital emergency medical system. By taking Beijing Emergency MedicalCenter as the research object, the quantity, the composition and the turnover situationof doctors is described, and the reason of the shortage and turnover of doctors is beenanalyzed. The suggestions are proposed to resolve the shortage and turnover problemby reference to the experience from other countries, districts and from the communityhealth industry.
