The Construction Of An Expert System For Perennial Flower

Perennial flower is a kind of herbaceous flower, which include many species and varieties with long growth period for its beauties, strong ornamental function in population levels, easy to management and no strict restriction on site condition. Since our native perennial flowers have been regionally distributed in the country, it is difficult to cultivate and apply by the users who are in the other place. Therefore, we establish Expert System for perennial flowers be used broad in garden. The user can get the perennials information and an expert solution of cultivation problems by this system which has the strong knowledge base and reasoning function.In this paper, the perennial flowers from five area are used as materials to edit the flower catalogue on the basis of nationally survey of some representative cities and investigation of commercial requirement of these flowers, the flower expert system center are established to provide some knowledge about the perennial flowers. This center collects great information of 400 flower species or varieties, including 10 thousands pictures which could help people to identify and use these materials.Besides, this system also gives processing method during the flower cultivation, for instance, how to use the materials in gardening design regular reasoning and knowledge structure and express method according to leaf symptom, and how to predict the materials performance. By friendly exchanges between users and the system, that could help users to solve the problem in the flower growth and management, and also help users to inquire about some correlative knowledge by using inquire module.This system is consist of domain database, domain information base, prediction program and user's interface, in which XML database is adopted to do the information management in flower kinds, cultivation, maintenance and application, as well as provide some knowledge and experience from the experts in the field. The prediction program based on Jess of CLISP is used to diagnose the problems from flower's cultivation and maintenance and so on. It also has many functions, such as inquiry, diagnosis, maintenance, up date. The user's interface adopts multimedia and super-conjunction technique, which is more easy to use and looks directly.
