Puccinellia tenuiflora is a perennial Puccinellia tuft grass that has some eminentbiological characters such as the tolerance of alkali-saline and high feeding value. Puccinelliatenuiflora has become one of most important utilization potential value grazing for thegrazing plant. The Puccinellia tenuiflora were followed both at the levels of population andclone during the whole growing seasons on the field survey, and statistics and quantitativeanalyses were studied on vegetative reproduction of Puccinellia tenuiflora in both habitats. The result showed:(1) At the end of growing season in Songnen Plain of China, the dormancy modules ofPuccinellia tenuiflora in Alkalinize meadow consisted of dormancy buds and dormancyseedlings, and dormancy seedlings were dominant both in the mowing meadow and herdmeadow. Mowing was in favor of the forming of dormancy modules especially of dormancyseedlings. The number of dormancy modules and the dormancy seedlings both increasedlinearly with the cluster diameter.(2) At the returning green stage, vegetative reproduction of Puccinellia tenuiflora havetwo kinds of dormancy ,one is the lotus, and the other infinitive bud. The winterness tillerswere dominant both in the mowing meadow and herd meadow. The winterness ratios was76.6% in the mowing meadow less than 87.4% in herd meadow. The relationship between thenumber of winterness tillers and clamets , and the cluster diameter were linearly positive .(3) The biomass of winterness tillers and clamets were positive in relation to clusterdiameter, and the biomass of cluster increased in power function with the diameter and thenumber of the ramets.(4) At the flowering stage and the ripe stage, the number of reproductive ramets weredominant in both sample plots. The number of reproductive ramets and the biomass werelineally positive to cluster diameter and the number of cluster ramets. The number and thebiomass of the functional modules were strictly restricted by cluster diameter. Most of thebiomass was distributed to the reproduction in both the two utilizations.(5) At the vegetative growth stage after the full ripe, the number of the vegetative rametsin the mowing meadow was higher than that of the herd meadow in both habitats, and thenumber of the reproductive ramets in the herd meadow was higher than that of the mowingmeadow. The number of the cluster was linearly positive to the cluster diameter.
