Study On Cotton Potential Productivity And Development Strategy In Henan Province Based On GIS

On the basis of previous research results of potential agricultural productivity, Using the mechanism methodology and relative computing models, potential cotton productivity was computed according to the factors such as radiation, temperature, precipitation, soil and social economy in county unit. Compare potential productivity to real cotton production and dicide the priority of cotton growth. Then gave a proposal of cotton development in Henan based on the analysis of potential productivity per area, coefficient of potential productivity, total potential productivity and exploiting priority. The results were as follow:(1) The radiational potential productivity of cotton in Henan was 8130~9950 kg·hm-2, the value became lower from north to south as the radiation became weaker. But the radiation was enough to cotton growing.(2) The cotton potential productivity of temperature in Henan was 4020-6220 kg·hm-2, the(3) The precipitational potential productivity of cotton in Henan is 650-5300 kg·hm-2, thedistribution of the value was same as radiational potential productivity.(3) The precipitational potential p distribution of the value was not regular.(4) The natural potential productivity of cotton in Henan was 160- 3920 kg·hm-2, the difference of the value was high. The highest value was in the counties of wuyang, queshan, linying, neihuang and so on, it was indicated that the natural resourese was of advantage to cotton growth; the lowest value was in the counties of xichuan, yexian, ruyang, xincai and so on,it was showed that some of the natural resourses were limitation of cotton growth.(5)The social potential productivity of cotton in Henan was 652-2116 kg·hm-2, from east to west, the value became lower.There was difference between the distribution of natural potential productivity and social potential productivity because of the different economic level, different cost and different agricultural technology.(6)The distribution of exploiting priority was as follows: the exploiting priority of the east of Henan, most of the north and the east of nanyang was high; the west of Henan and some of the middle counties had lower exploiting prority, other parts were in midest.(7)The proposal of cotton development in different areas are as follows:In north Henan, good irrigating establishments shoud be developed. In the east of Henan, technology cost shoud be increased, then improve soil texture in some counties.In nanyang, good cultivated measures should be carried, such as add organic fertilizer, enhance soil texture, andprevent diseases and pests, then improve production.The development of middle part of Henan is same as the east. Other counties have little cotton planting area because of policy and agricultural technology, which are not suitable to plant cotton.It's important for exploiting nature resourse and guiding agricultural production.
