Melon (Cucumis melo L.) is one of important vegetable. Water threating produced obvious influence the yield and quality of melon .So studying on regularity of water requirement of melon growing in field has important sense to understand the upgrading yield and high quality of melon and raising the utilization ratio of water.Drip irrigation under mulch is an advanced technique combined by the trickle irrigation technique and the polyethylene film planting technique, which have the advantages of saving water, enhancing yields, upgrading quality and high utility. Compared with conventional irrigation and cultivation mode, the soil moisture and thermal environment, water requirement pattern are changed by drip irrigation under mulch. The field experiment study for melon (8601 and xinmi19) was conducted in agriculture college Experiment Station in Shi he-zi University and forestry management Experiment Station in 143 of Shi he-zi city, Xinjiang province. The main results are as follows:1 , During the experiment, in 0-70cm soil ,the irrigation treatment of soil moisture content 70-80% was fitted for growing of melon (8601 and xinmil9), so we can get the water requirement of 8601 in sprout stage was 0.75mm.d-1, in fruit stage was 4.56mm.d-1, in ripe stage was 1.73mm.d-1; the water requirement of xinmil9 in sprout stage was 0.39mm.d"1, in fruit stage was 2.29mm.d-1, in ripe stage was 0.69mm.d-1. Irrigation treatment of soil moisture content 80-90% was so large water that melon was growing too fast before blooming stage, lead to nutrition growing and reproductive growing were out of balance, so affect the quality improving in the ripe stage. Irrigation treatment of soil moisture content 60r70% was so little water that it was not meet the demands of melon in fruit stage, lead to happening rate of abnormal was very high, so the quality of melon was very bad. Although the target of CK was not bad, it was inferior to irrigation treatment of soil moisture content 70-80% in the quality of melon, at the same time it was inferior to drip irrigation in ecological. So this experiment advise irrigation treatment of soil moisture content 70-80% with drip irrigation under mulch of melon was the best.2, In this experiment we found when the soil moisture contents was lower, the proline was higher during initial fruit stage, it was decreased with the increase of soil moisture content, during flourishing fruit stage and final fruit stage proline was not decreased with the increase of soil moisture content.3, The chlorophyll in leaf cell of 8601 and xinmi19 was decreased with the increase of...
