| The thesis looked at the preservation of cut Lily flowers from two angles. The research, on the hand, focused on the effects of pretreatment and cold-storage; on the other, it also studied the preservatives in order to learn senescence mechanism of Lily and find out a preservative which was safer, cheaper and more efficient.1. Cut Lily (Lilium longiflorum) flowers was pretreated with different solutions and cold-stored at a temperature of 0~4 ℃ for two weeks. The results indicated that the longevity of flowers pretreated with preservative A: 40 gL-1 Sucrose(S) +300 mgL-1 8-HQC+60 mg L-1 Al2(SO4)3+100 mgL-1 GA3, was longest under normal temperature. The vase-holding life of the flowers however decreased slightly after cold-stored whereas the longevity of other flowers pretreated with agent A was longer. Further, it is observed that the effects of pretreatment respectively containing with B9 and GA3 on senescence of cut Lily flowers. Pretreatment: 40 mgL-1 S+300 mgL-1 8-HQC +60 mgL-1 A12(SO4)3 +25 mgL-1 B9, can prolong vase-holding time of flowers for one day, three days respectively at different conditions. The pretreatment can increase fresh weight, delay the decrease of the content of soluble sucrose and protein(Pr), reduce the accumulation of proline(Pro), inhibit loss of water, enhance the activities of superoxide dismutase (SOD), peroxidase (POD) and catalase (CAT), which can reduce the accumulation ofmalondialdehyde (MDA) and the productivity of superoxide radical (Q), maintainthe stability of membrane. Similarly, pretreatment containing GA3:40 g L-1S+300 mgL-1 8-HQC+60 mg L-1' Al2(SO4)3+100mgL-1GA3, can keep Lily flowers fresh, which is better than pretreatment containing B9.2. Effects of different preservatives on the physiological and biochemical changes of cut Lily(Lilium x longiflorum) flowers: which prolonged longevity; increased the fresh weight, the diameter, petal length; inhibited a marked increase in MDA; kept the stability of plasma membrane permeability.
