Correlation Analysis Of Body Traits And Microsatellite DNA Markers In Rabbit

Sixteen microsatellite primers selected from Mouse Genome Database were analyzed for polymorphism in Rabbit. Allele frequencies were estimated based on band presence or absence. Average heterozygosity (H) and polymorphism information content (PIC) were calculated by allele frequencies, and then, linkage analysis between character and markers by least squares means and the correlation among the 3 characters of body traits in 4 breeds of Rabbit were studied. The result indicate:5 pairs of microsatellite were polymorphic and could give consistence. The average marker of alleles detected by a pair of primers was 4.2. The average value of PIC was 0.5448, and the population heterozygosity of the microsatellite markers was 0.6015.We found there were linkages among 5 makers and 3 characters in Rabbit through least squares means. Analysis in each breed, Least squares means of 35-day weight for D7Mit82 BC was significantly higher than those for AB, CC in Newzealand. Least squares means of 21-day weight for D9Mit46 DG was significantly higher than those for BB, BD, DD, and DF in Caniforlian. Least squares means of birth weight for D14Mitl AB was significantly higher than those of other genotypes in caniforlian. Least squares means of birth weight for DlMit30 BC was significantly higher than those of other genotypes in tyfo. In Belgian, least squares means for each of markers genotypes were not significantly differences in birth weight, 21 day weight, 35 day weight, 90 day weight and average daily gain from birth to 90 day. Analysis in each breed, genotype CC was linked with birth weight and 21-day weight, DD and EE were linked with 21 day weight, 35 day weight.
