This paper has analyzed several agroforestry management patterns of poplar plantation in plain area in Jiangsu province: the patterns of poplar-crop, the patterns of poplar-pasture and the patterns of poplar-medicinal materials. Based on the investigation of biomass, yield, kernel quality, microclimate and economic benefits in poplar-crop systems, this pattern was mainly studied. Also, the allelopathic effects of some species in agroforestry management system were measured. The main conclusions can be drawn as follows:1 ) Compared to the CK., temperature and humidity in these agroforestry management systems are different, but statistic shows they are not significant, and illumination is different significantly. The equation of temperature difference and humidity difference between the CK. and in the woodland from morning till night, the equation of the tree shadow from morning till night and the equation of overshadowing time in each site in different distance from the tree line were simulated out.2 )In collocation 3 5 30m of different age, the rice in woodland of one year, two year and three year are different in one ear weight, ear length, area ear quantity and 1000 grains weight significantly, and not significantly in biomass, yield, ratio of yield to biomass, protein content and starch content. In same age woodland, the rice in collocation 3 x 5 x 30m and collocation 3 x 15m are different in ratio of yield to biomass and 1000 grains weight significantly, and not significantly in biomass, yield, one ear weight, ear length , area ear quantity, protein content and starch content.3 ) Compared to the CK., poplar-crop intercropping affects the rice in one ear weight, ear length , area ear quantity, 1000 grains weight, protein content and starch content significantly. They show this tendency: low in the area near to the tree line and high in far. And intercropping does not affect the rice in biomass, yield and ratio of yield to biomass. Poplar-crop intercropping affects the wheat in biomass, yield, one ear weight and ear length significantly. They show the same tendency with the rice. And poplar-crop intercropping does not affect the wheat in 1000 grains weight, area ear quantity and ratio of yield to biomass.4) Different collocation affects the wheat differently, compared to the others, the wheat in collocation 3 x 5 x 30m has the highest biomass, yield, ear length and area ear quantity, in collocation 3 x 15m is the lowest, and ratio of yield to biomass is on the contrary. The wheat in collocation 4 x 5 x 50m has the highest one ear weight, 1000 grains weight, protein content and starch content, in collocation 3 x 15m is the lowest.5 ) The water extracts of the roots of Nanlin 95 and NL-80351 affect the seeds germination and simplified vigor index( SVI), and suppress seedling and root growth of wheat, rape, cabbage,alfalfa, white clover and cross pennisetum, especially at a high concentration, but on the contrary to cotton and Sickle Senna.6 ) Using the water extracts of the seed of Sickle Senna to treat the cuttings of NL-80351 indoors, the result shows the water extracts in high concentration affects the cuttings strongly, the experiment in the field also shows the cuttings soaked in high concentration water extracts one hour get low livability.
