| After joining in World Trade Organization, farm products including fruit were faced with acute competition in China. Beside bringing in new variety and improving quality, regulating the fruit maturation is one of the important measure to considered for increasing the benefit of farm.One of the fruit varieties Called Pearl-Guava(.Psidium guava L.) has been brought into Guangdong Provinces and other places from Taiwan Provinces in recent years. The harvest time of Pearl-Guava is same to litchi and longan under normal cultivate pattern. So the farming benefit is low relatively.The content of the trial are the effects of different physical and chemical measures on the maturation time, yield and value of Pearl-Guava. The measures included pruning, disbudding, fruit thinning and spraying Urea, etc.The technique of regulating the fruit maturation of Pearl-Guava has been studied initially. The results were as follows: The fruit maturation of pearl-Guava can be postponed by postponing the pruning time. By this ways, the yield decreased gradually, but the benefit increased remarkably on suitable pruning time. In the Zhujiang delta area, the highest benefit can be got when the plant of pearl-guava was pruned around April 1st and disbudded, thinned fruits afterwards. The leaves could be got rid off safely by spraying thirty percent Urea on April 1st , but there is no positive effect on fruit maturation, yield and value of pearl-guava compared with pruning directly. |
