Applying synthetical analysis and combined analysis respectively the data of xi' nan nation common maize regional trials and xi ' nan the first group nation common maize regional trials were analysed. The results are as follows:1. By using synthetical analysis the regional trials data was analysed. The tested crosses are classfied into four groups. The first group includes Ya970.The second group includes SAU97-3,Yu9501,DH3303,Pu9794,2738 and Liao206. The third group includes Guijil and Suo97-l.The Nongda108 belongs to the fourth group. The difference among the four groups is significant at different level.The difference inside the four groups is not significant.The stability of all crosses is worse.2. Using synthetical analysis the data of regional trials in 2002 was analysed.The tested crosses are classified into three groups. The first group includes Pu9794. The second group includes SAU97-3,Guijil,Pin95-4,Ya04273 and Nongda108. The third group includes 6312,Suo9810,Xindan22,Chengyul05 and An2001. The difference among the three groups is significant at different level.The difference inside the four groups is not significant.The stability of all crosses is worse.3. Applying the method of combined analysis the data of regional trial in 2001-2002 were analysed.The results are obtained: Ya970 are excellent varieties.Yu9501,2738, Pu9794, DH3303,Liao206, and SAU97-3 are better varieties. The Xun97-l,Ya04273,Nongdal08,6312, Pin95-4 and Guijil are general varieties. Xindan22,Chengyu10,An2001 are worse varieties.4. The method of synthetical analysis and combined analysis have merits than other methods as follows:(1) The synthetical analysis including three methods provides scientific evidence for varieties rank and synthetical evaluation. It is the perfectest method of analyzing the crop regional trials data in single year.(2) The combined analysis can deal with unbalanced data. Based on the least squares principle it may estimate the le'ast squares means of varieties.sites and their combinations, and to analyse of variance and multiple comparisons. No needing estimate absent data and count valid repetitions in multiple comparisons.If the data of a block or a treatment is not all absent it can extract useful information and analyse result precisely and credibly.(3) When same varieties are less in the data of several years the method of combined analysis has some restriction.
