The field experiment and pot experiment were carried out in 2000 and 2001. The main current spreading varieties in the Yellow River Valley cotton area, transgenic cotton varieties (G. hirsutum L.) as CCRI41, CCRI29, SGK321, Xinmian33B and DP99B, and non-transgenic cotton varieties ( G. hirsutum L.) as CCRI34, were used to study their yield, fibre quality, seed quality, copy physiology, trying to elucidate the difference in the 6 provided varieties, and so trying to advance a theory for the high yield and high efficient planting of transgenic cotton. Conclusions as follows:1. Yield and its composing factors. According to the difference in seedling emergence, seedling quality, seed quality, disease resistance, yield composing factors, there are sidnificant and very siginificant differences in yield level of the varieties . In them, the yield level of the hybrid transgenic cooton CCRI29, common transgenic ,DP 99B and Xinmian 33B is the highest.2. Fibre quality. In general, the fibre quality in the whole plant of CCRJ29, 33B are better than other 4 varieties.3. Crop Physiology. The activity of SOD, CAT and POD, and the content variation of MDA, IAA, ABA, proline and chlorophyll, were tracked hi the whole growth period of the 6 varieties. The results reveal that the trend of variation on each item is alike among the 6 varieties, and there is no obvious difference. CCRI41 and CCRI34 are blunt to low temperature, CCRI29 and CCRI34 vary very obviously on every item in drought treatment. DP99B andXinmian33B fluctuate very gently in the inadequate light treatment.
