Cycloid reducer is K-H-V planetary gear drive, of which the widely used are RV, FA and cycloid ball transmission. The existing cycloid and pin planetary drive is axis-live transmission, which needs specialized output with low transmission efficiency. Based on the analysis of existing drive types of cycloid drive, a new axis-fixed cycloid drive is presented after summarizing the advantages of axis-fixed transmission, movable teeth transmission and cycloid transmission. The transmitting principle, construction form, transmission accuracy and dynamic characteristics are studied and the prototype is designed with which the experiment is carried out.The main work done is as the following:â‘ Drive principle and meshing characteristics of the new axis-fixed cycloid drive are analyzed and the optimum modification amount is derived.â‘¡P rototype of the new axis-fixed cycloid drive is developed, and mechanical behavior of the critical drive components is studied. Dynamic simulation is conducted by ADAMS software to verify the correctness of theoretical calculation. Three-dimensional models are established by Pro/E software with which the interference checking is proceeded.â‘¢Transmission accuracy of new axis-fixed cycloid drive is analyzed and the equations of systematic backlash and transmission error are derived. The key factor to backlash is found out based on the sensitivity analysis.â‘£Transmission efficiency vibration tests are carried on in the gear drive test bed.
