This paper introduces the theory of the seismic mitigation of absorber, and makes preliminary research on seismic performance of Shock Absorber of different sections with the numerical simulation method.Then we made the quasi-static tests of absorber, and combined the theoretical analysis and experimental results. The specific research works are as follows:First of all, this paper makes preliminary research on Shock Absorber seismic performance of different sections (including rectangular variable section, circular variable section and diamond variable section) in hysteretic curve, skeleton curve, equivalent viscous damping coefficient and power ratio index with the numerical simulation method, and compares the results. By analysis and comparison, the Shock Absorber with diamond variable section has the best seismic mitigation performance. However,considering the processing and construction issues, circular variable section should be used.Secondly, the paper made the quasi-static tests of absorber with circular variable section,and compared the experimental results with the theoretical analysis. Experimental results shows that under the low cyclic loading, ductility and energy dissipation capacity of the absorber are good. Experimental results are basically consistent with the theoretical analysis.There are 34 figures,8 tables,54 reference in this paper.
