The cycloid drive has some essential advantages such as wide range of transmission ratio, compact structure, high reliability and long working life, so it is widely applied. The FA cycloid-pin wheel planetary drive reducer which is widely used in cycloid transmission is the newest transmission device at present. Compared with the common cycloid drive, it has a series of advantages such as small volume, lightweight, wide range of transmission ratio, long work life, high rigidity, high slewing precision, stable precision, high efficiency and stable transmission. The design of the drive adopts a lot of advanced theories and technology and uses a kind of innovation structure, so the FA drive has overcome the defect of the traditional structure, and enhanced the transmission efficiency, volume, and the transmission precision.In this paper, on the aspect of the theoretical stress analysis about the cycloid and pin wheel tooth face in the cycloid-pin wheel planetary transmission, a stress analysis method of mesh with initial clearance is put forward, which is more accord with the actual engineering. The method can calculate the contact force and its change range between the pin gear and the cycloid during the whole transmission more precisely.The teeth profile modification theory is the confidential core technology in overseas. In this paper, on the base of investigating all kinds of the profile modification methods, and based on the principle of optimum teeth face contact condition, Inverse Arch-shaped Teeth Profile for improving the bearing capacity is deeply studied. The FA reducer pin teeth structure is lying pillow type, so the bending strain may be ignored. Therefore the critical factor is contact intensity rather than bending intensity. Contact stress value have critical influence on its contact intensity, so it is essential to study on contact stress. The combining quantity of"minus radial-moving+ plus equidistant"is obtained with the optimization theory. Compared with all kinds of the profile modification methods, it is found that the best contact condition of the inverse arch-shaped teeth profile can lead to the best stress condition.To validate the stress analysis between cycloid disk and pin wheel, we build the FE model for contact of cycloid disk and pin teeth based on FE contact and gear contact analysis. We get the contacting state through three-dimensional dynamic analysis for the first time and get values and changing ranges of stress of pin teeth and cycloid wheel. Finally stress is converted to force through formulas and the result is similar to that obtained from dynamic analysis. It is concluded that dynamic stress analysis theory brought forward by this paper and the inverse arch-shaped teeth profile leading to the best stress is correct.
