With the high speed developing of industry, the operating conditions of seal become high temperature,high pressure,and high rotating speed. During operation, some problems are aroused, especially the ones about the seal failure due to deformation of seal end face, and the thermal deformation is a domain factor of end face deformation. In order to explore the causing of thermal deformation and theirs affecting degree, the T-shape groove dry gas seal in synthesis gas compressor was analyzed and researched as a model.At first, the research development and research methods of seal thermal field,seal deformation,seal coupling,seal optimization are learned by the related domestic and overseas data, and the research scheme is determined; through the thermal,structure,coupling analysis theory, and the calculation and research methods are determined.Based on finite element method, the stable state thermal field model of seal pair was established by thermal balance analysis and model simplicity, the thermal field was solved by numerical method, the thermal distribution rules are obtained; though the research above, the thermal-structural coupling deformation was solved, and the deformation rules are obtained; the influence of condition parameters,material parameters,structural parameters of seal pair on the axial deformation,deformation conicity,deformation curvature of seal end face is analyzed, and find out the main effect factors; the deformation optimization method of seal pair was discussed, and the optimization scheme is presented based on the thermal deformation compensation theory, and the thermal deformation of the optimized seal is carried out. and its results proved that the optimization scheme is feasible.By the profound research on the thermal deformation of T-shape groove dry gas seal, some usual rules are gained, which provide theoretical basis for the design and optimized design of dry gas seal, and provide base for the next step of seal instantaneous analysis,multi-field coupling analysis,optimized design, etc.
