Modern car R&D procedure takes the advanced core technology of Digital Product Development.The Digital vehicle model built in virtual prototype bases on test data of the standard car, it defines configuration parameters of the target vehicle through iterative computer simulations so as to provide an important basis for the test iteration and final design of the physical sample.Handling stability is one of the main performances of the vehicle on which suspension K&C(Kinematics & Compliance)characteristic have an important impact. This dissertation combines the suspension K&C test data of some domestic mini-vehicle, utilize the conceptual suspension module(abbreviated as CSM)of the dynamic simulation software-ADAMS to construct parametric conceptual suspension and vehicle model,study on suspension K&C characteristic and the application of conceptual suspension in the analysis of vehicle handling stability, eventually, the test results and simulation results are compared to verify the model availability.The conceptual suspension of the ADAMS/Car based on the concept of roll center theory is a kind of parametric dynamic model in allusion to assembly features. By means of conceptual suspension kinematics(the K characteristic of suspension wheel parallel jump kinematics, the K characteristic of suspension roll kinematics, the reverse stiffness of steering system)and compliance(the C characteristic of suspension longitudinal flexibility, the C characteristic of suspension lateral flexibility, the C characteristic of suspension return torque)characteristic analysis, it can be easily carried out the analysis and adjustment of the suspension K&C characteristic which is applicable to simulation analysis of vehicle conceptual development stage and influential analysis of some parameters on the vehicle performance;the application of conceptual suspension in the analysis of vehicle handling stability can give a large number of simulation curves so as to do further theoretical research and performance prediction of the vehicle.In the process of vehicle development, especially the early stage,measuring the suspension K&C characteristic parameters and structural design parameters adoptive in similar target cars undoubtedly provide extremely important help for the suspension K&C definition and detailed design of the new car. In the later stage, measuring the suspension K&C characteristic parameters and recording the K&C characteristic change during the improvement of the standard car will be in favor of vehicle performance analysis, tuning and optimization in the course of test iteration of the physical target model, conducive to characteristic match of the systems and assembly. Study of suspension K&C characteristic test establish a comprehensive suspension K&C characteristic database, provide precise experimental data for the theoretical study of suspension K&C characteristic, supply reliable data support for the mathematical model of vehicle handling stability to ensure that the model can predict the dynamic performance,accordingly reduce vehicle test and shorten product development period.In the flow of CV(Conceptual Verification)-DV(Design Verification)-PV(Production Verification) for modern car R&D, Digital Vehicle Product Development takes the core technology of virtual standard vehicle dynamic simulation and Concurrent Engineering is of great significance. The dissertation studys at the DV(Design Verification) stage. This approach gets support from large-scale database as well as platform development process, carry on virtual prototyping simulation iteration, determine the configuration parameters of the sample car, provide a strong theoretical basis for physical sample test iteration. This type of platform development can shorten product development period, reduce product development cost, significantly improve the quality and efficiency of product design, enhance the speed and capabilities of vehicle development, and be of great significance to the vehicle development.
