Simulation technology used in Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) can help to train operators and estimate the safety of the operation. In order to extend the scope and functions of the simulator and improve the operation of the NPP, the on-line simulation of NPP is studied.Firstly, the concept, functions, structure and run modes of NPP on-line simulation are studied. Secondly, according to the reactor's coolant system the on-line system is designed. The methods of on-line updating the simulation data, on-line correcting and predicting accident result are studied. Then the numerical models of the coolant system are established. The procedure contains integrated the thermal-hydraulic models, pump model and some special models. Finally, the simulation program was compiled and tested under the real-time simulation support system SimExecTM. Comparing the simulation results with the design values, the program meets the needs of operator training and safety analysis. The on-line updating data and predicting accident result functions of the simulation system were verified by static state and dynamic state simulations. Then the trends of two accidents are obtained. The trends show the right results. It means that the on-line system designed in this thesis is feasible.This thesis can be a fundamental work for the researches on the NPP on-line simulation. The scheme designed by this thesis will be useful to the developments of the applications of the on-line simulation.
