The actual flow and pulsation of the axial piston pump are more complicated physical phenomena. In this paper the leakage track and the pressure between ball friction coupling and the slipper were analyzed in detail for the axial piston pump, the calculation formula of the leakage flow was deduced and the numerical simulation was carried out for pumps with odd or even pistons. Moreover, the influence of leakage flow on the actual flow and pulsation was studied, and the mathematic models of the actual flow were established and theoretical simulated.The main studied in this paper was given as follows,(1) Kinematics analysis of the axial piston pump. The simulation was obtained based on the analysis of relative movement between the piston and the cylinder block, and the piston and the swash plate. It was shown that the structural parameters affect the movement parameters and the actual flow.(2) Analysis and calculation of forces on the piston and the slipper. The calculation formulae were deduced according to the analysis of forces including the lateral pressure between the piston and its hole block, the support force of the swash plate, the friction force between the piston and the cylinder block, and the overturn moment of the slipper, and then their simulations were achieved. It was pointed that the structural parameters affect these forces and moments, and lead a change in the actual flow.(3) Calculation and analysis of the transient flow and pulsation of the axial piston pump in theory. For the axial pumps with odd or even pistons the transient characteristics were analyzed, and their theoretical calculations and simulation were obtained. (4) Analysis and calculation of the leakage of the axial piston pump. Based on the analysis of leakage track, the calculation formulae and the simulation model were gained.(5) The influence of the leakage flow on the actual flow and pulsation. The influences were analyzed in detail, and then the mathematic model of the actual flow was established and the simulation was acquired.
