This report introduces briefly present research status and the development trend of permanent magnet propulsion electrical machines in many countries, the basic techniques demands of research is put forward, this is the design example with the basic parameters of Siemens PERMASYN permanent magnet propulsion machines to finish research plan. It is brief introduced about NdFeB permanent-magnet material and SmCo permanent-magnet material. It is discussed and analyzed in this report about the effect of armature response characteristic with surface and tangential magnetic circuit structures in permanent magnet propulsion motor. A new structure model with surface Permanent magnet case is put forward, that is a renewable surface permanent magnet cases with a pole-shoe. It is chiefly introduced in this report that a rotor damping winding design and its influence, analysis and calculation of surface-magnetic circuit structure in permanent magnet propulsion electrical machines. Sub-Transient Reactance and Exchange Phase Inductance formulas are deduced, Mathematical models for this new structure model with surface magnetic circuit structure is chalked up. It is discussed and analyzed a concentrative fully pitched winding (q=1) and a fractional-slot winding (q =3/10) characteristic in permanent magnet propulsion electrical machines. Through finite element method use of ANASYS software is used to analyze different machine configuration, for example, 18-phase,24-pole fully pitched winding and 18-phase,40-pole fractional-slot winding. It is shown that the proposed permanent magnet propulsion electrical machine with fractional-slot winding has a low torque pulsation clearly. It is simply introduced in this report that the current source models main circuit topology construction, the operation principle drawing of main circuit about six channel parallel connection in this research plan is put forward ,and introduced in this report that the DCVC,the Restrain Pulse Reactor,the ACI and it's operation principle.New point of views and new developing ideas are put forward about the large power permanent magnet propulsion electrical machines in this studied. It has realizable and good engineering realistic condition.
