Digital simulation plays an extremely significant role in power system stability analysis and control since the programming, operation and control of power system depend primarily on digital simulation. The formation and growth of nationwide synchronous grid render the whole power system more vulnerable to dynamic instability. Simulation credibility of power system is arousing more and more emphases from experts on electric power science. This paper targets generating unit and focuses on the research on model parameters of excitation system, turbine governor and synchronous generator, where methods are stated of verifying parameter validities of excitation system and turbine governor models while the sensitivity of synchronous generator response to its parameters on a short-circuit outage is studied by the means of iterative auto-simulation. Thus, a new approach is proposed to verify parameter validity of models abovementioned.
