The Research Of Light And Color Elements Application In Contemporary Cityscape Design

This article starts with the application problem of light and color elements in cityscape design, proposes the approach of light and color elements application in contemporary cityscape design. It makes the people to understand the important affect of light and color in landscape design through illustrating the relationship of light and color and their influence to people's physiology and psychology. Thereby, the author suggests to combine the light and color design and the ground landscape design of cityscape together, to avoid the pollution and incoordination of light and color in the design.The quick development and great scale of Chinese city construction in the last ten years has attracted worldwide attention. The rising of"City Lighting","Color Project","night scene illumination"and"light environment construction"enables the city full of vitality. The building of night scene light demonstrate the deep meaning of city culture and the colorful chapter of city landscape, which promotes the city image and accelerates the traveling prosperous and the commercial prosperity. Townspeople's nightlife becomes more richly colorful and they are attracted to go out in the night with the guaranty of security. Cityscape design is the necessary and inevitable trend of the modern city construction development. It has already been started as the essential constituent of municipal administration engineering system. Through more than ten years'construction and management, our country's cityscape design has obtained great achievement, but still with some obviously defects. For example, as a result of lacking the overall plan, city night scene is short of order with high and out of control brightness which destroys the light harmony and wastes energy, city light environment appears to be impulsive and vulgar lacking aesthetic feeling, low taste of the city color culture and disordered management affect the normal development of design. Cityscape design is a systematical project. Creating harmonious, happy and joyful city environment is based on the creative and scientific design. This requires the designer to master multi-disciplinary knowledge such as city planning, architecture, optics, electrical engineering, psychology, chromatics and aesthetics and so on, and simultaneously have deep artistic accomplishment and the practical ability of controlling the light shade and color effect of illumination equipment.The significance of this article lays in the conclusion of concrete design method and principle through the research of light environment and color in cityscape design, which help the designers to eliminate"light pollution"and"color pollution"in the future cityscape design to achieve the real harmonious unification of light and nature and enhance people's living environment and aesthetical taste. It breaks the non-synchronous and separated pattern of formerly architectural design, plan design and illumination design; integrate the light and color truly in the landscape design to become a complete design system; avoid the malpractice that there is only structure, no color in the design.
