Optimizing Construction-scheme For Value Engineering

As nations economy grows rapidly,traditional ways of thinking and practicing face serious challenges,new ideas have to be adopted.The concept of Value Engineering provides us a new point of view in the management of a construction project.This Value Engineering view should be employed through the whole life cycle of a construction project,as it allows all parties of the project to express their concerns,and their desires will be carefully analyzed.In this way,the ratio of value to value of the project can be strived to its highest possibility.Currently,the management of construction project lacks an easy-to-use and systematical approach to control the construction value.Many enterprises have not recognized the importance of Value Engineering.The view of Value Engineering will satisfy the demand of construction industry.It will elevate the efficiency of construction in various period of the project,reduce the construction value to meet the requirement of budget,and increase the profit finally.It will also encourage the application of new technology.Therefore,the importance of Value Engineering view does no need to be further emphasized.Construction enterprises will benefit greatly from the implementing the Value Engineering view.It will help them to increase the productivity and improve the competitiveness.The construction industry,which is a backbone of our nations economy,faces great challenges.The way of economy growth needs to be adjusted,and the overall structure of national construction industry needs to be elevated.In this paper,we first report the origin and evolution of the so-called Value Engineering view.The usefulness and the importance of this Value Engineering view are illustrated by demonstrating its implementation around world.The experiences of international construction industry are reported and should provide us valuable information.In this paper,via a practical example,we show that the Value Engineering view indeed can create great economic benefit to the enterprise and to the community as well.The practical procedures of implementing the Value Engineering view are carefully designed and studied in detail for different period of the construction project.Finally,future direction of research is discussed.
