Hybrid is one advanced technology that can decrease oil-consume and reduce emission and it's also the research hotspot of automotive domain. The hybrid bus, which integrates diversified and special developed technology and production, is representative of the hybrid vehicle. The paper finishes an in-depth research to the LCD instrument system of the hybrid vehicle.In terms of function request of the whole vehicle, the paper carries through detailed analyse and layout to the whole system of the multicolor LCD digital instrument and designs the hardware of the instrument controller with the high-powered MC68376, which is a 32 bits CPU of Motorola. On the basis of the hardware, finish the design of software module. The LCD instrument system is of the following characteristics, realizing the share of the auto information by CAN bus, credible transfer and display information, small instrument cubage, strong system expand ability, good real time ability and high precision, abundant and lively display contexts including numerical value and energy flow.On the principle of modularization, integration, simplification and optimization, accomplishing the hardware system design including basic system design of MC68376, clock circuit design; protect circuit design of reset and low voltage, communication module circuit design, input signal treatment module circuit design, output signal treatment module circuit design, power module circuit design. Some critical circuits are simulated by Pspice to validate the filter effect and frequency response characteristic. And the sample is developed successfully at last.On the basis of fully consideration of reliability and real time characteristic, design the bottom driving software and upper controlling software with assembly language and C language respectively, including system initialization, input signal solving module, CAN driver and receiving strategy, LCD lightening module, menu switching module and power-off solving module along with program of LCD display, program of main display picture, program of energy flow picture and program of CAN inspecting display.The use of actual vehicle has proved that the main display picture, energy flow picture and CAN inspecting picture achieve the vested function. The display pictures are vivid, exact and have good real time characteristic and fast menu switching speed. In addition the LCD instrument system is of such functions as instrument display, malfunction diagnosis display, the record and analysis of the vehicle's steering parameters, the store and backtrack of data, and so on. A digital and intellectualized vehicle instrument has been realized.
