The Ultrasonic Flowmeter is a non-invasive instrument, which has great advantages in convenience, high precision and so on, plays a key role in industrial production, medicine, petroleum, water resources and so on. The key parameter of the Ultrasonic Flowmeter is the Accuracy of measurement.In this paper, the history and present condition of the Ultrasonic Flowmeter has been briefly introduced first; then we compared the gap between the Ultrasonic Flowmeter and other Flowmeter; we also analyzed several principle of Ultrasonic Flowmeter; after all these research work, an improved Transmit Time method Ultrasonic Flowmeter based on DSP has been put forward. On the aspect of ultrasonic wave Transmit and Receive, we use two probes to realize the switching between transmitting and receiving mode; we also adopted a transmitted scheme based on intermissive multi-pulse, which develops the Time Difference with Interpolation, uses digital filter to adjust the waveform, and calculates the Time Delay with Correlation Arithmetic. Afterward, the paper calculates the parameters of the transmitting, sampling, interpolation and so on.The hardware of the whole system is composed of transmitted, received circuit, central sequential control, digital process circuit and server circuit. The software of the whole system is the programme of CLPD to control system sequence and using DSP to realize several digital signal process arithmetics. In this paper, MATLAB is used to simulate the digital filtering and Correlation Arithmetic. In the end, we gave out our own suggestions for improvement.
