Research about image segmentation technology of car instrument board based on machine vision is very important.It's key to realize car instrument automatic recognition.Vidicon and computer can replace human eye to chase and recognize car instrument reading.Then it can make judgement if the reading is overflowing the normal value and give corresponding alarm in time.This work can liberate human eye tiredness from reading car instrumentboard now and then.It can alleviate the driver's painstaking in long-time driving course.At the same time it can promote safety factor.By checking the material about the application of machine vision used in single analog measurement instrument.Machine vision applied in complex analog measurement instrument such as car instrumentboard is scarce.The car instrumentboard is composed of speedometer,tachometer,lubricant pressure meter,fuel gauge,water temperature meter etc.This produces much more difficult than single analog measurement instrument.In order to use the former theory about researching on single analog measurement instrument for reference,we can devide the complex car instrument into the single one.In this paper there are two kinds of key things to discussjust as follows: One is car instrument image pretreatment:In actual system,because of such infection as season alternation,natural light change,light stability and evenness,the car movement,watching spot(such as camera angle,station,watching angle etc.)collection equipment etc. All these factors conduce that we can't receive satisfying image,It has different noise interference.So we should do well in image pretreatment so as to prepare for the later image segmentation. The other is image segmentation of car instrumentboard:In order to use the former theory about researching on single analog measurement instrument for reference,first we can analyse the character of car instrumentboard and then give corresponding deviding arithmetic.First we can find one white dot as seed,then according to this white dot seed,we search connected domain,by this way we can devide one instrument form the car instrumentboard.Use the same method we can devide the complex car instrument into the single one in the end.
