The pervious reseach indicated that upper part was failed firstly when earth-rockfill dam was damaged under strongl earhtquake loading.It is necessary to use earthquake-resistant measures to high earth-rockfill dam in earthquake region.Reinforcement technology is very important retaining method in geotechnical engineering field.It can exploit the tensity of the reinforcement thorughly and enhance the strength and autostability of rock or soil mass.It has been gradually applied in the practical engineering fields of earth rcckfilled dam in China.The paper analyzed reinforcement anchor method numerically using the finite element method,taking Nuozhadu's earth core rockfill dam as example.The main contents of the paper are organized as follows:Researched the basic principles of reinforced rock and the way that the two materials work together;Analysed stability of the dam slopes with the limit equilibrium method;Then drew up the mothods of the rernforcement.Anaylysed effect of reinforcement to the dam body by the equivalent additional stress method.Used the equivalent nodal force method which is combinated with the equivalent additional stress method and modified Newmark's sliding wedge method to caculate the the permanent deformation of the rernforced dam.Studied the effects of different anchor space and anchor length to the statibility of dam.Conclutions based on the above researches are organized as follows:(1)In the calculation based on equivalent additional stress method,reinforcement has little contribution to the static and dynamic analysis of the dam,that is because the stress and strain is not high,the geogirds can contributes can not exploit the tensity of the reinforcement sufficiently in the uniform continuum.(2)The reinforcement has more influence in the stability calculation,rigid equilibrium limit method white takes the material as ideal rigid plastic can exploit the tensity of the reinforcement sufficiently.The reinforcement deepens the potential sliding surfaces and enlarges the minimum safety factors.(3)Permanent deformation is an effective and visualized norm to evaluate the effect of reinforcement in aseismic design.The equivalent nodal force method in which the deformation of reinforcement is compatible with the dam's has smaller influence in the permanent deformation analysis than the Newmark's sliding wedge method fore the latter takes the the limit intensity as the contribution of the reinforment. (4)Increacing the length of geogrids and reducing the distance of geogrids will enlarge the effect of the reinforcement.
