This thesis aims to process optimum design of gantry container crane structure system based on dynamic characteristic. Parametric model is the fundamental for optimal design, so it first establishes a parameterical finite element model of gantry container crane structure system.The mechanic properties of mechanical systems include two aspects of static and dynamic characteristics. Dynamic rigidity of gantry crane structure system is the most important parameter,which affects dynamic characteristics of gantry crane structure system significantly.Usually it is described in term of the natural frequency. This paper presents the static analysis and dynamic analysis. Dynamic analysis includs modal analysis, harmonic responsis analysis and transient dynamic analysis. The static strength and stiffness values are determined by static analysis. The key modal frequency is determined by modal analysis and harmonic response analysis.Dynamic displacment response of mid-span node is determined by transient dynamic analysis,on the condition of the weight lifted from the ground. Each analysis result is extracted in order to prepare for dynamic optimum design.Optimum design of gantry container crane structure system based on dynamic characteristic is accomplished by finite element analysis software ANSYS. Consider the quality and dynamic stiffness of system structure as dynamic optimization objectives. For these two optimization objectives, sensitivity analysis has been done for all structure parameters to determine the dynamic optimum design variables. Dynamic optimum mathematic model is built subjected to static strength, static stiffness, dynamic displacment etc. After optimization analysis, two optimum design programs having different optimization objectives are compared, in order to put forword a design program of the gantry container crane with lighter weight and high-performance static and dynamic characteristics.
