With the modernization of the city and the improvement of the livingstandard of the residents, the traffic congestion has become the bottleneck of the urban economic development. To solve this problem, it has beenproved an effective way to construct box tunnel and to malce good use of the undergound space. However, no systematic and complete monograghs about construction techniques are ever seen.The main work of this thesis as follows:(1)Base on the former research, principle and methods of tunnel excavation, applied and reasonable characters of that are found, which will be the foundation of the further analysis.(2)Under the guide of the theoretical analysis, the process of the tunnel excavation is expressed in detail, and it will guide the design and construction in the future.(3)The properties and influencing factors of shallow excavation tunnel are discussed.(4)Through the field monitoring data, the influence of the ground surface settlement is analyzed, and the properties of the large-span tunnel are evaluated.(5)The mecanics properties of the tunnel are also analyzed associate with the field monitoring data.The above-mentioned study should be helpful to the colleges engaged in the construction of urban infrastructure.
