HVDC is a new type of power transmission technology developing rapidly inrecent years, mainly applied to faraway and high capacity power transmission, powersystem networking and submarine or underground cable power transmission. Systemfaults will result in production pause or confusion, so, fault diagnosis is the coretechnology of HVDC and one of the important investigation. Considering the existingstate that researches on HVDC system fault diagnosis of home and abroad arerelatively rare, types and features of various HVDC system faults are analyzed in thispaper; consensus and Auto Disturbance Rejection Controller (ADRC) are used insystem fault diagnosis and a few corresponding key technology problems are deeplyinvestigated on the basis of simulation.Firstly, this paper deeply studies the control method and compared to PID, itmainly uses unlinear combination of error to form control strategy, it revised thedisadvantage of PID linear combination. Based the research on ADRC, we make use ofESO in fault diagnosis. The extended state can both detect and estimate the faults.Meanwhile considering the disturb, we use consensus filter to tilt the noise. Moreover,the paper compares the filtering effect of consensus under different sensormeasurements. Thereout we design a new method to faults diagnosis strategy.After analyzing the common faults and features of HVDC, the new method is usedin HVDC system. Based the characteristic of state equation of HVDC, we do somemath change to let it adapt to the extended filter this paper designed. So as to designthe new method which can both detect and estimate the faults of HVDC system.The new method doesn't need training network, we just design the extended faultconsensus based on ESO, and it has important practicability and real-time character.
